Welcome to the blackwork pattern library

Blackwork is an easy technique to master however, we have many requests for instructions on how to work different fill patterns. We hope that this section of the site will grow into your very own blackwork pattern library with a different fill pattern illustrated and “mapped out” for you regularly.

More patterns - Due to lack of space we are continuing this pattern library on our sister site. There you will find more patterns, free designs, shaded blackwork lessons and lots of other goodies. While you are there don’t forget to sign up for our free monthly ezine and build a blackwork band sampler issue by issue. Pattern 2 - Cable Pattern
Our second pattern is the Cable, again used in the Tortoise and also a shaded version is used in the waterlilly.

Pattern 1 - Octagons and Diamonds
We will start with a very common fill found in blackwork charts. To see it in action check out the Owl starter kit and the Weekenders Red Butterfly, the Weekenders Snail and the Tortoise.
